GWCT NE Wales is Game for Conservation

Located on the North Wales coast in Colwyn Bay, Bryn Williams at Porth Eirias was the beautiful location for the NE Wales’s GWCT Committee event ‘Game for Conservation’, in the company of local well known farmer and internet influencer Gareth Wyn Jones. Attendees we’re greeted with welcome drinks before feasting on a game inspired 3 course feasts by head chef David Parry. The evening was filled with game from all angles with a raffle, heads and tails, talks from GWCT staff and a Q and A session with Gareth Wyn Jones. To finish the evening Gareth took to the podium as the guest auctioneer ensuring the hammer went down on the exceptional auction lots kindly donated by local businesses. An astounding amount totalling over £4,000 was raised during the evening.

Emyr Davies and Katie Cowell were officially welcomed as new members to the committee by Edward Macfarlane, GWCT’s Chief Operating Officer. Emyr Davies said “A fantastic evening amongst lovely friends. We’ve both received such a warm welcome to the committee and would like to thank everyone that supported and helped make this a very successful evening in raising funds for continued research. Thanks to our guest speaker and auctioneer Gareth Wyn Jones for his continued work in trying to educate the nation of the importance of our countryside and the way it should be managed.”
