In 2024 a trio “A Taste of Game” Events were hosted across Wales by three of the GWCT Wales Fundraising Committees.
Working in partnership with students and their lecturers from 3 local colleges, it gave attendees the opportunity to be witness an array of young talent emerging in the hospitality sector thanks to dedicated staff at the colleges.
Each gathering highlighted the versatility of game meat and the role it plays in sustainable food practices.
Through delicious dishes and engaging discussions, we explored how game cuisine connects to conservation efforts and sustainable living.

Ceredigion Committee
19/12/24 Bwyty Maes y Parc, Coleg Ceredigion, Aberteifi
Ceredigion GWCT Committee organised their 2nd Taste of Game meal on 19th December 2024 for 44 diners at Coleg Ceredigion, Aberteifi. Huw Morgan (Catering/Hospitality Manager) and Sam Everton (Chef Lecturer) guided their students to prepare and serve a fabulous, festive 7 course Taste of Game menu. The flavours, presentation and service were outstanding. The standard we have come to expect from them all. The level of conversation and laughter was a measure of how much enjoyment was had by all.
Owen Williams; Chair of GWCT Cymru and renowned wildlife artist painted a beautiful watercolour of a curlew in flight that was auctioned on the night. Owen and Lee Oliver Director for GWCT Cymru, both gave short presentations on current GWCT work, and in particular the many ongoing projects taking place in Wales. The evening raised over £1000 for GWCT with plans for future similar events. Re-informing our links between GWCT and the staff and students at Coleg Ceredigion.
Look forward to our 2025 events and Taste of Game Evenings by keeping an eye out on our events calendar for upcoming events!
